8:30-9:00am: Camp arrival and check in, SMR Nordic Center
9:30-11:00am: Basic ski technique defined/fundamental movements (Kiva Center)
11:00-1:00pm: Lunch on your own
1:00-2:30pm: Recovery/rest on own
2:30-4:30pm: Skate ski technique/V2and DP technique and workout (On snow SMR Nordic Center)

Saturday, November 19:

8:30-11:00am: Skate ski technique/V1 technique and workout (On snow SMR Nordic Center)
11:00-1:00pm: Lunch on your own
1:00-2:30pm: Open discussion on general ski selection and waxing, open forum.
2:30-4:30pm: Skate ski technique/V2 alternate technique and skate ski specific workout (On snow SMR Nordic Center)
5:00-7:00pm: Dinner at SMR Commons

Sunday, November 20:

8:30-11:00am: Classic ski technique/classic striding technique and workout (On snow SMR Nordic Center)

Camp Overview
The 2016 Snow Mountain Ranch November Camp is designed to give a Nordic skier a jump-start on the 2016-17 snow season. The camp will be limited to 24 athletes over the age of 18. Athlete ability can be from the raw beginner to a seasoned racer. The focus of this camp will be on snow technique work and adjustments as we transition from other sports or dryland work to actual on snow training. Skiers should be prepared to ski both techniques. Technique and training sessions will all take place at the Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center. On snow coaching and video review will be the primary tools for the coaching.

Camp Fee: The total fee for the camp including all coaching sessions and trail passes is $275.00 payable to the YMCA of the Rockies/Snow Mountain Ranch. Meals and lodging are not included in the camp fee, but are available by going to:

Camp Requirements/Tips: All skiers should have both sets of technique equipment. Also bring training/running shoes for the indoor movement session. Water belts/bottles are a must. The proper outdoor gear for all types of winter conditions. (This is the Rocky Mountains at 8750’) If the weather does not cooperate for an on snow camp, then please be prepared to continue dryland work with trail hiking/running, bounding, and roller skiing.
