  • Anna

    x

    Anna

The most noticeable feature about Anna is her sweet personality.  She’s 9 years old and happens to be Glacier’s sister.  Even though she’s very sweet and docile, Anna is an excellent lead dog and has been a leader in the John Beargrease marathon, the UP 200 and many more.  She stays focused on the trail, pulls hard, and listens well to commands.  Anna enjoys interacting with guests and has mastered the art of using her big brown eyes to get belly rubs.

  • Chrissy

    x

    Chrissy

Chrissy is a three year old female, mother to all our puppies.  She’s very sweet, but also very shy.  It takes her a while to warm up to new people.  Once she gets to know a person, however, she’s a very affectionate cuddler!  She has a pretty all-white coat and expressive brown eyes.  Petite but strong, Chrissy always pulls hard.

  • Eli

    x

    Eli

Eli is a four year old male with stunning blue and brown eyes.  He’s our child prodigy; at one year old, he was already running in lead.  He has the perfect combination of strength, stamina and intelligence.  When he must run the same route too many times, you’ll notice him get bored and look around for some kind of stimulus.  He’s very handsome; with Glacier and Nance as his parents, how could he not be!

  • Glacier

    x

    Glacier

Glacier is an 9 year old male.  His fur is all white and he has beautiful ice blue and brown eyes.  Glacier has loads of personality and it’s easy to tell there’s a lot going on inside his head.  As one of our lead dogs, we need him to be smart and strong.  He’s the son of a great leader named Pinto.  Glacier has run and completed the John Beargrease sled dog marathon four times, and the UP 200 four times, along with many shorter races.  He retired from racing last year.  When he’s not on the trails, he enjoys napping in the sun and stealing attention away from Tip.

  • Glacier Jr.

    x

    Glacier Jr.

Glacier Jr. got his name because of his white coat and ice blue eyes, just like our other Glacier.  At the time, Steve didn’t know if Glacier Sr. would be coming back to the team so it seemed appropriate to carry on the name.  We call Glacier Jr. “Glaish” for short and to distinguish the two dogs.  Glaish has an immune disorder that makes his skin very sensitive to sunlight.  He receives daily treatment to manage it.  Thankfully, it hasn’t slowed him down at all—he’s an extremely strong dog!

  • Indigo

    x

    Indigo

At a year-and-a-half old, Indigo is very playful.  She has striking ice blue eyes and beautiful markings on her coat.  She’s smart, affectionate and quickly learning how to be part of the team.  Her parents are Eli and Chrissy.

  • Nance

    x

    Nance

Don’t let her size fool you!  Six year old Nance is an extremely hard worker; she consistently runs fast, pulls hard, and is very focused on the trail.  Her lineage traces back to —-, a well-known musher in Alaska.  Nance is the proud mother of five of our other dogs.  She is always well-behaved, but has the slightly neurotic tendency to run in circles all day, every day.  We’re guessing it’s her secret for staying in shape.

  • Ricky

    x

    Ricky

Ricky is a three year old male with very long legs and a high metabolism.  His parents are Ziggy and Nance, and like the both of them, he’s a hard worker.  Like Ziggy, he can get quite vocal when he’s excited to run or wants attention.  Ricky likes to play a game when he’s on the picket line; he’ll loop his body around unsuspecting guests’ legs, then nudge them so they lose their balance and fall in the snow.  He’s quite the trickster…

  • Rosie

    x

    Rosie

Rosie is a year-and-a-half old female with white fur and the same blue eyes as Yukon.  She has lots of energy and can be a little squirrely at times, but once she finds her focus she’s a great dog on the sled.  Eli and Chrissy are her parents.

  • Samson

    x

    Samson

Samson is Eli’s brother and is also four years old.  Samson is really mellow until we put his harness on; he loves to pull so much that he can go a little crazy!  Samson has black fur and sometimes the high altitude sunshine is too hot for him, so we keep a close eye on him for signs of fatigue.  Samson can be goofy and has some idiosyncrasies that make him a unique (and loveable) dog.

  • Tip

    x

    Tip

Tip is an eight year old female.  She is extremely smart, sweet, and a bit of a diva.  Tip loves to cuddle up with guests (especially children) and get her tummy scratched.  Tip is one of our leaders and her quick intelligence is very useful on the trail.  When she wants to be, she’s great with commands!  If she needs a break or would rather be getting a belly rub, she’ll let the musher know by giving a little attitude.  Like any good diva, Tip knows how to work a crowd and win hearts.

  • Yukon

    x

    Yukon

Yukon is a year-and-a-half old male with white fur and bright blue eyes.  He got his name from Steve’s great deceased leader.  He was the only male puppy in his litter, and Steve wanted to carry on the name to honor the former Yukon.  He’s growing up fast and has already gotten pretty strong!  His parents are Chrissy and Eli.

  • Ziggy

    x

    Ziggy

If you hear a loud baying sound coming from the picket lines, it’s probably coming from Ziggy.  Ziggy is a six year old male who loves to pull and never quits; he truly loves to run and brings lots of power and energy to the team.  Ziggy also loves affection; he’ll be well-behaved and quiet if someone is petting him, but as soon as a person moves away, he’ll let out a mournful howl!

  • Aspen

    x

    Aspen

Aspen is the littermate of Moose and Juniper.  She has a calm, diligent personality that is very similar to Zoey’s.  Her favorite game is to get Zoey to play by bugging Zoey until she engages.  She has picked up on training very easily, and we’re excited to see where she works best in our team.  Aspen loves belly rub, walking on the leash, and Zoey.

  • Moose

    x

    Moose

Moose is the littermate of Aspen and Juniper.  He’s less than a year old and is just beginning his training.  He’s very athletic and we think he’ll grow to be a strong, powerful teammate.  We’re working with him to get over his fear of “strange things” on the trails (puddles, branches, etc).  He has a sweet personality and adores people.

  • Juniper

    x

    Juniper

Since she was a month old, Juniper has acted as the guardian and leader of her two littermates, Aspen and Moose.  Juniper used to guard their puppy pen and growl at intruders (until they gave her food).  She shows a lot of promise with her athleticism, energy, and strong personality.  She’s finally moving past her “biting” stage, which makes her much easier to train!  She’s very vocal and you can tell exactly what she’s thinking by the noises she makes.

  • Misty

    x

    Misty

Misty is the sister of Zoey, Indigo, Rosie, and Yukon.  She gets her petite stature from her mother, Chrissy, and her strong personality from her father, Eli.  Despite her size, Misty can get rather sassy with older, bigger dogs who try to boss her around.  This isn’t a bad thing—she’s often teamed up with a dog who needs a reminder to respect their partner!  Misty shares this characteristic with her sister, Indigo, who is similar in build.  Funny how strong personalities can come in small packages!

  • Zoey

    x

    Zoey

Zoey got her name from the actress Zoey Deschanel.  The two met when Zoey (the puppy) was two months old.  Zoey (the actress) got to hold her and fell in love with her.  She’s already very fast and smart, and we believe she might be a leader in the making.  Eli and Chrissy are her parents.
